Game for True Love Waits

Someone wrote to the KDB--
My bible club at a public school is looking at doing a True love waits conference just before proms.
-- So I created a game to help
This isnt a skit, but a group participation experience... a game I wrote to help us understand what sex outside of marriage can do:
This isnt the original file so Ill give you the gist here:
As people entre give them a few 6 X 8 flash cards or page of paper (small booklet if your group can afford such a purchase) and a crayon (cheap and not eraseable)
Tell them to get people they meet here at the conference to sign the cards in a way that is readable. Then turn them loose. Dont give them any more information that that!
When enough time has past... call up one guy and one girl who seem to be pretty popular. Then have them read the names off of their cards and each of those people must come up on stage. Start with the popular people because they'll be less stage shy and they may have more people on their list than the others.
Then tell everyone what was going on...
each person that signed their card desginates someone they had sex with... And it wont matter if it was just oral sex or not!
The second name on the card of both the guy and girl: is someone who had an STD...
and all of the people afterwards on the cards are now infected...
Have the audience check their cards to see if any of those names are on their list...
if they are they stand up and wave to the audience.
The third girl on the list of the guy is pregnant!
if she has more than one guy on her card then she doesnt know who the father of her baby is.
etc...
you can add more ideas... like
- the 5th person on 100 peoples cards has AIDS
- everyone they slept with needs to get tested several times for at least 10 years.
- ask your youth pastor to come up with some more statistics to add as choices.
In the end, ask if anyone kept their memory book clean.
They may be eiher shy, reluctant to participate or just plain distracted from having people sign their card. Have everyone else sit down and give the clean ones some gift or small token. Then have the group pray for forgiveness for anything they have already done and ask God to help them develop skills to stay clean. God always forgives us of our sin and He wants us to hold His hand as our feelings come and go. He gives gifts and wisdom to those who ask of Him and He does it without looking to see if we deserve it...
may this be a blessing to you and those you serve,
In Jesus Name,
Sherry Kirton
